The Wooddale Bible Brethren Church began in the fall of 1984 when the congregations of the Wooddale Church of the Brethren determined that it could best serve the community by dissolving its denomination affiliation and organizing a new church.
With a fresh start came the opportunity to focus more on the needs of the community. Arrangements were made to hold Sunday services and Bible studies during the week at the Pleasant Valley Grange. It was an great location at the time, because it represented our rich local heritage and kept us connected to the needs of the community we were determined to serve. During those years, we were able to identify the special concerns of Wooddale and the surrounding area. God blessed us in our worship and fellowship by gathering a group of family, friends, and neighbors who deeply loved the Lord and wanted Him glorified in the life of the church.
As the church family grew in number, so did our desire to structure a building that could accommodate all of our ministry plans and programs, including a complete Sunday School and children’s ministry. We searched for land and God enabled us to purchase the beautiful five acres where we are presently located – several hundred yards North of the Grange. We continued to meet at the Grange until God provided the resources for us to build. On June 21, 1998, we broke ground for our new building and, by the end of the following year, moved in our present site with the official address of 982 Pleasant Valley Road.
Pray with us as we continue to reach others with the Gospel, minister to the needs of people everywhere, and wait on the Lord for additional space.
